HOW TO SELECT THE RIGHT CANVAS FOR MY MURAL PROJECT?

This is the most common question we receive and this is always my answer.

 "Pick the canvas that best fits the dimensions of your project from the sizes offered below.  Start with your smallest dimension and call that your width, then choose the length usually 3 yards (9 feet) or 6 yards (18 feet) longer."    We also offer longer rolls.

LakeArts does not custom cut any canvas, please choose from the sizes offered.

The widest primed canvas is 12 feet (123 Dixie pre-primed cotton duck, shrinks about an inch per foot)

The widest poly canvas is 127"  (about 10 and a half feet)

For murals we prefer the poly or poly blends because they do not shrink like cotton.

If you use this formula you will always have the right canvas for your mural project.

ANOTHER COMMON QUESTION WE RECEIVE IS ABOUT INSTALLATION.

Because applications vary greatly in different areas of the country LakeArts offers no recommendations for mural installations.  Please check with a large wallpaper store in your area.  You may also try doing a web search on "mural installation methods".

For  Niches or Small MURAL projects, a very smooth PRIMED lightweight poly canvas.

A fine, archival quality canvas especially made for large murals, billboards and wide-format color printers.   Double Acrylic Primed and ready to accept oil, acrylic, Inks, airbrush and stenciling paints.  Weights indicated are expressed in ounces per square yard or meter.  In textile terminology weight is indicated on linear yards per pound for a given width.

 Truck orders will come to you freight collect.  This means you pay for the shipping charges  when your shipment arrives.  Average residential costs range about $75. to $150. depending on weight and delivery zone.  A commercial delivery address saves about $30.    Freight charges are considerably more than UPS.

All mural canvas is double acrylic primed and is ready to be painted, no other preparation is needed.
